07.02.07AA MeetingThere is no better way to meet new friends than to do it drunk. God bless the social lubricant. The Alcoholic's Anonymous meetings organised by the Party Kepala Anisa Seow has always been a 'must go' on our calendars. Great food (blue cheese dips & chocolate fondues!) and free-flow minuman berzats of every creed make the belly go "mmmmmm" (and "brhouuuuuuuuuuuughhhhhh-ek" if you over did it). 06.04.07Dragon Head BarThe watering hole that started the addiction. Just 5 mins away from KJ Park and damn near where we all live sits Dragon Head bar. Friday night skate sessions always ended here, complete with sweaty pits, bruised hips and wet boxers. Sadly, numerous management changes have left the place a little worse for wear. Though the beer is sometimes stale, they don't have Guinness on tap and don't give freeflow muruku anymore, Dragon Head will always have a soft spot in our hearts. ^Azman Warren's weekly Friday night gigs were Dragon Head's best asset. 03.23.07Penang X-Jam lookbackWe're back, and we've got pictures! I burned through 4 rolls of film, only to find out that we had the camera to the wrong settings for half of them (sigh... live and learn huh?), but thankfully a few gems managed to come out beautifully. But first, some basics, Nick drove taking in tow Yeng, Eric, Bahrom (from Brunei) and of course myself late Friday night. Arriving at an ungodly 7am, we managed an early check-in at the dilapidated Berjaya Georgetown hotel before dropping by the Penang Youth Park for the Penang X-Jam. This sundry shop in Kiara is a legend, catering mainly to the expat community in Mont Kiara, the shop stocks an international selection of groceries to help them newbies feel at home. Why would that excite us? Well, because nothing helps an expat feel more at home than a nice cold one, and oh boy does this place stock it!
