Though the mad Friday rush hour traffic and gloomy clouds threatened to take over; boarders, bikers, bladers and music lovers strong armed and stormed the streets of Sunway at VANS’ Own the Street Concept Store Launch Event Party, held last Friday at Sunway Pyramid.
As the skaters and bikers challenged themselves on the specially built, never-seen-before gator pit fly box and wave rail, music lovers were entertained by indie darlings / VANS Malaysia Music Reps Couple and Bunkface. The bands were then joined on stage by the brand spankin’ new Malaysian VANS skate team comprising Pa’din, Kecik Ampang & Bazly. Also on hand were Malaysian street artists Shieko and Kenji, who poured their visions on specially created wooden ‘canvas’ made out of 30 skateboard decks.
After many gruelling and chaotic runs, the following rippers were crowned Owners Of The Streets:

Nasrul @ Memen – backside savannah on the gator pit grind ledge
The event was conceptualized and run by Wheel Love with logistical support from RSH (VANS Malaysia’s brand ownes) and ramp building expertise from VANS rider and local skateboarding dagger-legend Pa’din.
