I took my Inline Certification Programme (ICP) exam over the weekend. Thankfully, I passed and am now a certified Level 1 Instructor!
^National examiner Eussofe from Skateline (who offers the course) and his assistant Kevin puts the wannabe trainers to the test.
^The class. Man… its been a super long time since I’ve worn full pads and a skate with a brake.
Held in the basement carpark of the Tropicana Clubhouse, the programme is deceptively tricky. My 16 years of self taught skating has resulted in a mash of skills that though may work well for me, wont help much when I’m trying to teach a person how to skate from scratch. So the weekend was essentially a workshop to clean out my dirty habits and start putting a little bit more precision into my blading.
For the rest of you out there who want to preach the skating gospel and get more people to start blading, the ICP is a good place to start.
So yea… if you lookin’ for someone to teach you how to go forward, backwards and heel brake, I’m your man.
If you want to learn backside full torques and alley-oop souls later we can talk.
