Ok, here comes the “Scul-ture” part of the blog. This sundry shop in Kiara is a legend, catering mainly to the expat community in Mont Kiara, the shop stocks an international selection of groceries to help them newbies feel at home. Why would that excite us? Well, because nothing helps an expat feel more at home than a nice cold one, and oh boy does this place stock it!

A couple of months ago, we visited Kiara Mart (as it is unassumingly named) for the first time and were greeted with a rarely seen before selection of Asian “air tin berzat”: Leo, Kingfisher etc. That led us to name it the “Asian House of Beers”. However, last week, the place was stocked with more rarely seen drinks, this time from Europe. Leaving us no choice but to upgrade it to “The International House of Beers”.

The skeptical amongst you would probably ask “so fuckin’ what? there’s a bar in Damas with a wider selection… and a chun place to chill out!” Well… does your fancy-smancy bar sell em at RM4.20 a can? Hah, yup, you heard me, pick that jaw off the ground and pour some nice, tasty cheap beer down your gullet.
The PRICE is what keeps us coming back. A can of Belgium beer costs a paltry RM4.20, whilst a locally brewed Tiger goes for 4.80. What logic is this? But seriously, who cares why?
The lovely icing to this alcoholic cake would be its array of international snacks to go with your lovely beer – from jap candies to American pretzels to fish keropok, this place has it all, and a nice quiet benches right outside to boot!
Need more reason? well, how about the low mellow rails right out front?

Thats right… the cherry at the top!
Here are some pics we took from a trip a few months back
